About Harding-Madison Hockey
The Harding-Madison Ice Hockey Association is a non-profit, recreational hockey club open to resident boys and girls (ages 5 to 15) who want to play ice hockey with their friends, regardless of ability or experience.
Our mission is to teach our communities' youth about the game of hockey, sportsmanship, team play and how to be competitive while having fun. We believe this is what recreational sports are all about!
Harding-Madison Hockey is a recreational hockey program. We are a member of the Morris County Youth Hockey League, which plays all its game at the Mennen Ice Arena in Morristown, NJ (about a 15 minute drive from Harding and Madison) for our mite, squirt and peewee teams. Additionally, we place a middle school team in the nearby Union/Westfield league. The vast majority of our games are played on Saturday's and Sunday's, with an occasional game on Friday evening. We seek to offer a number of practices during the season to augment the game schedule. In recent years, we have been able to successfully field co-ed teams at the mite, squirt, peewee and middle school levels.

Program Details:
Registration for the 2024 - 25 Harding-Madison Ice Hockey Association (HMIHA) season will open soon. Please see below details on the upcoming season and registration options for each age group. The age groups listed below are for game play and are based on the standard age breakdowns as per USA Hockey and the Leagues HM participates in. As in the past the option to attend HM run practices are for all ages and are purchased separately. All HM teams are coed and open to residents regardless of experience.

MITES
For players born in 2016 and younger. Players will be placed on a team in the MCYHL (Morris County Youth Hockey League) at Mennen Arena. Fee $500 (includes 16 games + an end of year jamboree). Games will follow the half-ice format.

SQUIRTS
For players born in 2014 or 2015. Players will be placed on a team in the MCYHL at Mennen Arena. Fee $525 (16 games + playoffs.)
PEEWEE
For players born in 2012 or 2013. Players will be placed on a PeeWee team in the MCYHL at Mennen Arena, Fee $525 (16 games + playoffs.)
*** 6th and 7th graders that sign up for the Peewee team will be added to the Middle School Team roster (at no additional charge) based on HMIHA Board approval.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
For players entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade for the 2024 / 25 school year. Players will be placed on a team in the Union/Westfield League with games at Gumbert Park - Westfield and Union Sports Arena. (10 games + playoffs). Fee $340.
*The Middle School League is a non-checking league.
**Players in 6th and 7th grade that are age eligible for the PeeWee team can join the PeeWee team and will be added to the Middle School Team at no additional charge. If you wish to only join the Middle School team you can register just for the Middle School Team.
PRACTICES
For players born from 2010 – 2017 that wish to attend practices during the season run by the Harding-Madison coaches. (approx. 10-15 practices across the season). Fee $180

GOALIES
A discount will be offered for goalies registering for levels Squirt through Middle School. Additionally, Squirt goalies may be asked to play some Peewee games and Peewee goalies may be asked to play some Middle School games as needed. Fee: Squirt or Peewee $225. Middle School $200.
Player Verification process – NEW
A new requirement for the 2024-25 season is that all players except Adult or Disabled must be properly verified or they will not be approved to a roster.
There is an online process for Parents/Guardians to securely upload players birth certificates. When submitting documents, please provide legible .pdf documents, not screenshots from a phone.

If you prefer, copies of verification documents may still be emailed to REGISTRAR@AAHAHOCKEY.ORG .
If you play travel hockey and have already been verified with your club, you do NOT need to resubmit to play for HM Hockey.
If you ONLY play for HM Hockey, you must complete the process at https://www.atlantic-district.org/player-forms. Please do not send birth certificates to HM.
