About Harding-Madison Hockey
The Harding-Madison Ice Hockey Association is a non-profit, recreational hockey club open to resident boys and girls (ages 5 to 15) who want to play ice hockey with their friends, regardless of ability or experience.
Our mission is to teach our communities' youth about the game of hockey, sportsmanship, team play and how to be competitive while having fun. We believe this is what recreational sports are all about!
Harding-Madison Hockey is a recreational hockey program. We are a member of the Morris County Youth Hockey League, which plays all its game at the Mennen Ice Arena in Morristown, NJ (about a 15 minute drive from Harding and Madison) for our mite, squirt and peewee teams. Additionally, we place a middle school team in the nearby Union/Westfield league. The vast majority of our games are played on Saturday's and Sunday's, with an occasional game on Friday evening. We seek to offer a number of practices during the season to augment the game schedule. In recent years, we have been able to successfully field co-ed teams at the mite, squirt, peewee and middle school levels.

Program Details:
Registration for the 2025–26 Harding-Madison Ice Hockey Association (HMIHA) season is now open. All HM teams are coed and open to residents regardless of experience.
Please see below for details on the upcoming season and registration options for each age group. The age groups listed below are based on USA Hockey guidelines and the leagues HM Hockey participates.
Practices are available for all age levels and must be purchased separately.
New for the 2025–26 season:
- All players will be required to purchase a customized reversible jersey that includes their last name and number. The cost of each jersey is $68. Harding Madison hockey socks (optional, but encouraged) can be purchased for $26.
Jerseys and socks are ordered through Thompson Sporting Goods, and a link to the online store is available during the registration process.

MITES - closed
For players born in 2017, 2018, or 2019.
Placed in the MCYHL (Morris County Youth Hockey League) at Mennen Arena.
Fee: $550 (16 games + end-of-year jamboree). Half-ice format.

6th and 7th graders may also join the Middle School Team (pending board approval) at no extra cost.
MIDDLE SCHOOL - closed
For students entering 6th–8th grade for the 2025–26 school year. Priority is given to players in 7th and 8th grade. 6th graders may participate on a “call-up” basis.
Games held in the Union/Westfield League (Gumbert Park - Westfield and Union Sports Arena).
Fee: $375 (10 games + playoffs) - see goalie pricing below

PRACTICES
For players born 2011–2018.
Approx. 10–15 coach-led practices during the season.
Fee: $200
Practices are an additional cost and should be added during your registration.

GOALIES
50% discount for all goalies - Squirts through Middle School:
- Squirt/Peewee: $290
- Middle School: $187.50
Goalies may be asked to support older teams if needed.

Game Jersey sizing samples are available for try-on at Thompson Sporting Goods in Summit.
UNIFORM NUMBERS: Please enter 3 number choices at the time of order. Numbers will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis per age level.

PLAYER VERIFICATION - UPDATED
Player Verification is required for NEW players only. This is a USA Hockey rule and can be completed on the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association webpage. The link is below.
If you previously played for HM or were verified for travel hockey, you do not need to complete the verification process again.
